U/17’s Blarney Utd 1 Carrigaline 0

Blarney Utd moved up to second place in the league after a great performance Friday evening under lights in Riverview. Although the score line suggests it was a tight affair it was far from it with Blarney dominating the game from the start. Blarney pushed on from the first whistle with wingers Alan Shine and Len Sheehan attacking at every opportunity. Blarney were unlucky not to take the lead a few times in the first half but Carrigaline held out. Second half started where the first half left off with Blarney continuing to press for the opening goal. Blarney eventually got what proved to be the winning goal with 18 minutes left on the clock. Great work between Oliver Keane, Ronan Buttimer and David Shine saw influential midfielder Darragh Holland beat the Carrigaline keeper with a tremendous volley from 18 yards out. Very good performance from all 15 players involved, thanks to all for the support.
