BUFC U15’s 2-2 Churchvilla

Blarneys slow start put them 1 down inside the first min at Churchvilla scored almost straight from the kick off and it was nearly ten minutes before Blarney settled . It was after 15 mins Blarney equalise when Alan Shine put away a Cian Dunlea corner and Cian made it 2 – 1 before half time with a great finish to a good Blarney move. Blarney started 2nd half more solid but an own goal from a Churchvilla corner levelled the game early in the second half. Blarney pushed for a winner but a draw was probably the fair result.

Blarney United Development Squad. The Blarney United Development Squad (DS) is the clubs 2nd adult team which plays in the MSL Junior section Division 2. The DS is in its first year of existence with the main difference from previous years being that the emphasis is on young players and their development. The goal is to develop these players and integrate them in to the clubs senior squad, who play in the MSL Senior Division 1. The DS is largely made up of young Blarney players who have come through the clubs under age setup over the years, with the average age of the squad in the early 20’s. A few club stallworths are also involved and add vital experience and character to the group. The DS train twice weekly. Monday nights in Fehilys F.1.T gym in Ballincollig where the squad are put through a grueling circuit program by the onsite personal trainers and on the Club’s all weather floodlit pitch in O’Shea Park on Wednesday nights. Home games are played on the clubs floodlit grass pitch Friday nights 7:30pm All support is greatly appreciated at both home and away games with upcoming fixtures available on the club’s facebook page or The management team is made up of Seamus Ring, Paul Fitton, Tim O’Connor and Stephen Jennings.
