First half was largely uneventful. Blarney to their credit pushed hard for the opener and nearly got it after 20 minutes when Stephen Looney hit the crossbar with a powerful header. Stephen Looney had the Carrigaline team in all sorts of trouble with his pin point corners and free kicks but Blarney failed to capitalize on these in the first half. The second half started brighter with Carrigaline pushing on a bit making the game a bit more exciting. Blarney introduced all 5 subs from the bench and with 20 minutes to go decided to go for all 3 points now playing a formation of 2-3-5. The team duly responded and attacked from every angle. Rob O Riordan had a bullet header cleared off the line and Peter Harte was unlucky when his volley rattled the crossbar. Blarney got their deserved winner when Ronan Buttimer got on the end of an Oliver Keane lob making no mistake from 10 yards out. Thanks for all the support!
