Blarney U14’s v Buttevant Cup

Blarney U14 2 – 1 Buttevant

Blarney under 14’s showed themselves to be a team that has really matured this season. They played a very good Buttevant side that are flying high in their division. Blarney’s opener came from a perfectly floated free kick from Jack Homan was met by Shane O Shea’s head to give the Blarney boys  a well deserved lead at  the stroke of half time. Blarney were always in control of the tie and when Ben Hutchinson came on in the second half and took a shot which found the net it was the cushion that Blarney needed. Buttevant got a free kick with 10 minutes to go and found the net with a brave header. Blarney showed their experience and maturity to see out the game and booked their place in The Leonard Gould Final. The whole squad were excellent but the Back four of Higgins, Homan, Kirby and Mac Sweeney were the coaches men of the match. As coaches it is great to see the Under 14’s reach a final this year as well a being promoted. As coaches we are proud of their achievements this season.  Support welcome for the final.
