Result, lost 2-1
Team – Stephen O’Sullivan, David Murray, Ryan Corbett, Mikey Cronin, Gavin O’Keeffe, Ruairi Goggin, Sean Cronin, Sean Lynch, Jordan O’Connor, Ray Murphy, Callum O’Connor
Subs – Dylan O’Riordan, Aaron Buckley
Blarney started very well and scored after 5 minutes through Callum O’Connor with an excellently worked goal that Callum finshed very well.
They continued to dominate for the first 30 minutes with Sean Cronin and Sean Lynch controlling the midfield. Blarney started to fade about 30 minutes and Everton came back into it and were unlucky not to score on a number of occasions before the half. The second half started evenly with both teams creating chances. Everton equalised after 20 minutes with a well worked goal that had been coming. Blarney were then reduced to ten men after Sean Lynch got sent off for an off the ball incident. Both teams could have won it at this stage and Blarney hit the bar from a Ruairi Goggin free kick that Sean Cronin was unlucky not to finish the rebound on. Everton then also hit the ball from a free kick shortly afterwards. Disaster at the death for Blarney with Everton snatching the win with a well taken free kick in the 97th minute.
Best for Blarney were Mickey Cronin, Ruairi Goggin and Sean Cronin
The juniors have now got Leeds at home next friday night in their next fixture as they seek their first points of the season
