Jose’s army notched up another 3 points with a well deserved win against the Ballinlough outfit. Avondale started well and put pressure on the Blarney teens but it was only a matter of time before Sean O Deadhaidh and Luke Keogh showed their dominance and took control of the game by playing in Michael Carey and Adrian Morley who were proving a handful for the Avondale defence. The Blarney keeper was in fine form and was able to act as a sweeper to help his central defence pair of Emett O’Shea and Thomas Falvey and keep the Avondale forwards at bay.
The breakthrough came when Luke Keogh scored an absolute screamer from the half way line to put BUFC ahead deservedly so. The BUFC boys smelled blood and within three minutes and after a great piece of work from Ronan Mac Donagh passing to Adrian Morley who crossed to allow Carey to finish with ease.
The Second half was all Avondale trying to cancel the lead but the Blarney men stood resolute and kept the opposition shooting from distance. BUFC were the much better team and unlucky not to score a third. Everybody has played an important part from 1 to 16. We are very proud of the lads and their efforts and competitive sporting nature.
